The world's first independently published magazine exclusively for the ipad
ABOUT
Published quarterly by MERI Media, POST is the world's first independent magazine created exclusively for the iPad. A new frontier and paradigm in publishing, POST looks beyond the traditional rules of how and what magazines "should" be, in favour of speculating upon what magazines could be. It is about fashion, art, architecture, cinema, music, science; what's exciting now and tomorrow.
POST GRAVITY
POST Gravity explores what awaits us beyond constraints of time, form and place. Pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved on the iPad, Gravity opens with a groundbreaking, interactive 3D fashion story in which users can distort, bend and flip the dimensions of model Iselin Steiro. A menswear story, The Man Who Fell To Earth by Jacob Sutton and Simon Foxton, sees professional skydivers dressed in this season's sharpest suits dance in the microgravity environment of a vertical wind tunnel. Other highlights include Parisian super-store Colette's Periodic Table of accessories for summer, an exclusive film shot from the International Space Station recreating Yuri Gagarin's maiden voyage through space, and a bespoke soundtrack by the celebrated sonic artist Scanner.

POST presents Commercial Break, a video art intervention for the 54th Venice Biennale, as the free supplement POST Pavilion. Curated by Neville Wakefield and created in conjunction with Moscow's Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, it features the work of over 150 established and emerging international artists in a constantly reforming and randomly sequenced stream of artist's ideas. It reflects a world in which content moves at the speed of advertising and attention itself is the ultimate product. It is a dramatic intervention within that landscape – existing as both a giant floating video screen navigating the waterways of Venice during the opening days of the biennale, and as the iPad app by POST in which artist's films are presented through a series of updates throughout the five month duration of the biennale. Commercial Break is the pavilion of the 21st Century.

Reflecting the paradigm shift in media, the launch issue of POST takes the theme of Matter as the nexus around which all features have been curated. Exploring this transformation in the physicality of communications today, is a short film set in Istanbul in which the pioneering digital artist Miltos Manetas discusses the relationship between capitalism and social networking with Purple magazine founder Olivier Zahm; an interactive interview in which director Gaspar Noe elucidates upon the metaphysical lacuna of his latest film Enter The Void; a man on fire by Solve Sundsbo; and CERN, whose Large Hadron Collider provides the sounds of particles colliding at the speed of light that form the soundtrack to the issue.
